RESUMO

Metal-free room-temperature phosphorescent (RTP) materials with changeable colors have attracted great attention in anti-counterfeiting information encryption. Most ultralong-lifetime RTP (URTP) luminophores are traditionally obtained through heavy atom effects via enhancing the spin-orbit coupling efficiency. Here, we report the self-assembly of URTP carbon dots (CDs) using diphenylaminourea as the precursor through a thermal-evaporation assisted covalent-binding approach in the presence of boric acid (BA). The BA-functionalized diphenylaminourea-derived CDs (denoted as D-CDs1.5/BA composites) show a rigid network structure with B-C linkages connected to the surface of the CDs, which can effectively suppress the free vibration of CDs to promote intersystem crossover, finally resulting in an excellent URTP afterglow performance. They feature a low singlet-triplet energy gap and reduced nonradiative attenuation properties. As a result, the D-CDs1.5/BA composites exhibit a bifunctional fluorescence/phosphorescence performance with a high phosphorescence quantum efficiency (12.67%) and an ultra-long green afterglow phosphorescence lifetime of up to 3.66 s. A high-level information encryption and fingerprinting description based on the URTP D-CDs1.5/BA composites were then investigated. This work contributes to the feasible design and preparation of novel URTP CD materials with both ultra-long afterglow and a high phosphorescence efficiency, making them promising candidates for advanced anti-counterfeiting applications.

The current challenge of wearable/implantable personal dosimeters for medical diagnosis and radiotherapy applications is lack of suitable detector materials possessing both excellent detection performance and biocompatibility. Here, we report a solution-grown biocompatible organic single crystalline semiconductor (OSCS), 4-Hydroxyphenylacetic acid (4HPA), achieving real-time spectral detection of charged particles with single-particle sensitivity. Along in-plane direction, two-dimensional anisotropic 4HPA exhibits a large electron drift velocity of 5 × 105 cm s-1 at "radiation-mode" while maintaining a high resistivity of (1.28 ± 0.003) × 1012 Ω·cm at "dark-mode" due to influence of dense π-π overlaps and high-energy L1 level. Therefore, 4HPA detectors exhibit the record spectra detection of charged particles among their organic counterparts, with energy resolution of 36%, (µt)e of (4.91 ± 0.07) × 10-5 cm2 V-1, and detection time down to 3 ms. These detectors also show high X-ray detection sensitivity of 16,612 µC Gyabs-1 cm-3, detection of limit of 20 nGyair s-1, and long-term stability after 690 Gyair irradiation.

Objective: Dysregulation of the immune system plays a vital role in the pathological process of vascular dementia, and this study aims to spot critical biomarkers and immune infiltrations in vascular dementia employing a bioinformatics approach. Methods: We acquired gene expression profiles from the Gene Expression Database. The gene expression data were analyzed using the bioinformatics method to identify candidate immune-related central genes for the diagnosis of vascular dementia. and the diagnostic value of nomograms and Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves were evaluated. We also examined the role of the VaD hub genes. Using the database and potential therapeutic drugs, we predicted the miRNA and lncRNA controlling the Hub genes. Immune cell infiltration was initiated to examine immune cell dysregulation in vascular dementia. Results: 1321 immune genes were included in the combined immune dataset, and 2816 DEGs were examined in GSE122063. Twenty potential genes were found using differential gene analysis and co-expression network analysis. PPI network design and functional enrichment analysis were also done using the immune system as the main subject. To create the nomogram for evaluating the diagnostic value, four potential core genes were chosen by machine learning. All four putative center genes and nomograms have a solid diagnostic value (AUC ranged from 0.81 to 0.92). Their high confidence level became unquestionable by validating each of the four biomarkers using a different dataset. According to GeneMANIA and GSEA enrichment investigations, the pathophysiology of VaD is strongly related to inflammatory responses, drug reactions, and central nervous system degeneration. The data and Hub genes were used to construct a ceRNA network that includes three miRNAs, 90 lncRNA, and potential VaD therapeutics. Immune cells with varying dysregulation were also found. Conclusion: Using bioinformatic techniques, our research identified four immune-related candidate core genes (HMOX1, EBI3, CYBB, and CCR5). Our study confirms the role of these Hub genes in the onset and progression of VaD at the level of immune infiltration. It predicts potential RNA regulatory pathways control VaD progression, which may provide ideas for treating clinical disease.

Meningiomas rank among the most common intracranial tumors, and surgery stands as the primary treatment modality for meningiomas. The precise subtyping and diagnosis of meningiomas, both before and during surgery, play a pivotal role in enabling neurosurgeons choose the optimal surgical program. In this study, we utilized multiphoton microscopy (MPM) based on 2-photon excited fluorescence and second-harmonic generation to identify 5 common meningioma subtypes. The morphological features of these subtypes were depicted using the MPM multichannel mode. Additionally, we developed 2 distinct programs to quantify collagen content and blood vessel density. Furthermore, the lambda mode of the MPM characterized architectural and spectral features, from which 3 quantitative indicators were extracted. Moreover, we employed machine learning to differentiate meningioma subtypes automatically, achieving high classification accuracy. These findings demonstrate the potential of MPM as a noninvasive diagnostic tool for meningioma subtyping and diagnosis, offering improved accuracy and resolution compared with traditional methods.

It is a challenge to regulate charge separation dynamics and redox reaction kinetics at the atomic level to synergistically boost photocatalytic hydrogen (H2 ) evolution. Herein, a robust Ni-doped CdS (Ni-CdS) photocatalyst is synthesized by incorporating highly dispersed Ni atoms into the CdS lattice in substitution for Cd atoms. Combined characterizations with theoretical analysis indicate that local lattice distortion and S-vacancy of Ni-CdS induced by Ni incorporation lead to an increased dipole moment and enhanced spin-polarized electric field, which promotes the separation and transfer of photoinduced carriers. In this contribution, charge redistribution caused by enhanced internal electric field results in the downshift of the S p-band center, which is conducive to the desorption of intermediate H* for boosting the H2 evolution reaction. Accordingly, the Ni-CdS photocatalyst shows a remarkably improved photocatalytic performance with an H2 evolution rate of 20.28 mmol g-1  h-1 under visible-light irradiation, which is 5.58 times higher than that of pristine CdS. This work supplied an insightful understanding that the enhanced polarization electric field governs the p-band center for efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution activity.

Patient-derived gene expression signatures induced by cancer treatment, obtained from paired pre- and post-treatment clinical transcriptomes, can help reveal drug mechanisms of action (MOAs) in cancer patients and understand the molecular response mechanism of tumor sensitivity or resistance. Their integration and reuse may bring new insights. Paired pre- and post-treatment clinical transcriptomic data are rapidly accumulating. However, a lack of systematic collection makes data access, integration, and reuse challenging. We therefore present the Cancer Drug-induced gene expression Signature DataBase (CDS-DB). CDS-DB has collected 78 patient-derived, paired pre- and post-treatment transcriptomic source datasets with uniformly reprocessed expression profiles and manually curated metadata such as drug administration dosage, sampling time and location, and intrinsic drug response status. From these source datasets, 2012 patient-level gene perturbation signatures were obtained, covering 85 therapeutic regimens, 39 cancer subtypes and 3628 patient samples. Besides data browsing, download and search, CDS-DB also supports single signature analysis (including differential gene expression, functional enrichment, tumor microenvironment and correlation analyses), signature comparative analysis and signature connectivity analysis. This provides insights into drug MOA and its heterogeneity in patients, drug resistance mechanisms, drug repositioning and drug (combination) discovery, etc. CDS-DB is available at http://cdsdb.ncpsb.org.cn/.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is increasingly recognized and utilized worldwide. However, the complex ingredients of TCM and their interactions with the human body make elucidating molecular mechanisms challenging, which greatly hinders the modernization of TCM. In 2016, we developed BATMAN-TCM 1.0, which is an integrated database of TCM ingredient-target protein interaction (TTI) for pharmacology research. Here, to address the growing need for a higher coverage TTI dataset, and using omics data to screen active TCM ingredients or herbs for complex disease treatment, we updated BATMAN-TCM to version 2.0 (http://bionet.ncpsb.org.cn/batman-tcm/). Using the same protocol as version 1.0, we collected 17 068 known TTIs by manual curation (with a 62.3-fold increase), and predicted ∼2.3 million high-confidence TTIs. In addition, we incorporated three new features into the updated version: (i) it enables simultaneous exploration of the target of TCM ingredient for pharmacology research and TCM ingredients binding to target proteins for drug discovery; (ii) it has significantly expanded TTI coverage; and (iii) the website was redesigned for better user experience and higher speed. We believe that BATMAN-TCM 2.0, as a discovery repository, will contribute to the study of TCM molecular mechanisms and the development of new drugs for complex diseases.

BACKGROUND: The term "vascular cognitive impairment" (VCI) describes various cognitive conditions that include vascular elements. It increases the risk of morbidity and mortality in the elderly population and is the most common cognitive impairment associated with cerebrovascular disease. Understanding the etiology of VCI may aid in identifying approaches to target its possible therapy for the condition. Treatment of VCI has focused on vascular risk factors. There are no authorized conventional therapies available right now. The medications used to treat VCI are solely approved for symptomatic relief and are not intended to prevent or slow the development of VCI. PURPOSE: The function of Chinese medicine in treating VCI has not yet been thoroughly examined. This review evaluates the preclinical and limited clinical evidence to comprehend the "multi-component, multi-target, multi-pathway" mechanism of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It investigates the various multi-omics approaches in the search for the pathological mechanisms of VCI, as well as the new research strategies, in the hopes of supplying supportive evidence for the clinical treatment of VCI. METHODS: This review used the Preferred Reporting Items for Preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) statements. Using integrated bioinformatics and network pharmacology approaches, a thorough evaluation and analysis of 25 preclinical studies published up to July 1, 2023, were conducted to shed light on the mechanisms of TCM for vascular cognitive impairment. The studies for the systematic review were located using the following databases: PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Cochrane, and ScienceDirect. RESULTS: We discovered that the multi-omics analysis approach would hasten the discovery of the role of TCM in the treatment of VCI. It will explore components, compounds, targets, and pathways, slowing the progression of VCI from the perspective of inhibiting oxidative stress, stifling neuroinflammation, increasing cerebral blood flow, and inhibiting iron deposition by a variety of molecular mechanisms, which have significant implications for the treatment of VCI. CONCLUSION: TCM is a valuable tool for developing dementia therapies, and further research is needed to determine how TCM components may affect the operation of the neurovascular unit. There are still some limitations, although several research have offered invaluable resources for searching for possible anti-dementia medicines and treatments. To gain new insights into the molecular mechanisms that precisely modulate the key molecules at different levels during pharmacological interventions-a prerequisite for comprehending the mechanism of action and determining the potential therapeutic value of the drugs-further research should employ more standardized experimental methods as well as more sophisticated science and technology. Given the results of this review, we advocate integrating chemical and biological component analysis approaches in future research on VCI to provide a more full and objective assessment of the standard of TCM. With the help of bioinformatics, a multi-omics analysis approach will hasten the discovery of the role of TCM in the treatment of VCI, which has significant implications for the treatment of VCI.

Introduction: This study aimed to investigate the effects of emotional themes and the COVID-19 pandemic context priming on the size and color of drawings. Methods: A 3 (emotion: peacefulness, gratitude, loneliness) × 2 (context: pandemic, regular) mixed design was used and 113 university students in Shanghai were recruited to draw human figures and trees using 10 marker colors. Results: The size of the drawings depicting loneliness was smaller than that of the those depicting peacefulness and gratitude. Drawings depicting loneliness used more cool and non-preferred colors; drawings depicting gratitude used more warm and preferred colors. Drawings in the pandemic context were larger, which may reflect the more significant threat perceived by individuals. Drawings in the pandemic context used more red colors, showing symbolic meanings such as danger. Discussion: The drawing size and drawing color are influenced by emotional themes and the pandemic context priming.

Zero-dimensional (0D) hybrid metal halide (HMH) glasses are emerging luminescent materials and have gained attention due to their transparent character and ease of processing. However, the weakening of photoluminescence quantum efficiency from crystal to glass phases poses limitations for photonics applications. Here we develop high-performance glass-ceramic (G-C) scintillators via in situ recrystallization from 0D HMH glass counterparts composed of distinct organic cations and inorganic anions. The G-C scintillators maintain excellent transparency and exhibit nearly 10-fold higher light yields and lower detection limits than those of glassy phases. The general in situ recrystallization within the glass component by a facile heat treatment is analyzed via combined experimental elaboration and structural/spectral characterization. Our results on the development of G-Cs can initiate more exploration on the phase transformation engineering in 0D HMHs, and therefore make them highly promising for large-area scintillation screen applications.

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of ultrasound-guided PENG (pericapsular nerve group) block and drug therapy with intravenous flurbiprofen for early analgesia in elderly patients with hip fractures after hospitalization. METHODS: This is a single-center, observer-blinded, prospective, randomized, controlled trial. A total of 41 elderly patients (aged 60 or older) with hip fractures were enrolled in the current study. Patients were randomly assigned to two groups: Group P (ultrasound-guided PENG block, 20 mL of 0.375% ropivacaine) and Group F (intravenous flurbiprofen 50 mg). The primary outcome measure was the dynamic (passive straight leg raising 15°) NRS (numerical rating scale 0 to 10) pain scores at different time points. The secondary outcomes were the static NRS scores at different time points, the number of rescue analgesia sessions, patient satisfaction, and the incidence of complications. RESULTS: Patients in the two groups had comparable baseline characteristics. The group P had lower dynamic and static NRS scores at 15 min, 30 min, 6 h, and 12 h after intervention (P<0.05) than the group F. The highest NRS pain scores in the group P were still lower than the NRS scores in the group F at 30 min-12 h (Group F: 5.57±1.54 vs. Group P: 3.00±1.12, P<0.001), and there was no significant difference between the two groups at 12-24 h (Group F: 6.35±1.79 vs. Group P: 5.90±1.83, P>0.05). The group P had higher satisfaction scores (Group P: 9 (9,9) vs. Group F: 8 (7,8), P<0.001). There was no statistically significant difference in the number of rescue analgesics at 0-12 h or 12-24 h or the incidence of complications between the groups. CONCLUSIONS: Compared with intravenous flurbiprofen, ultrasound-guided PENG block provides better early analgesic effects in elderly patients with hip fractures, and a PENG block is safe for elderly patients with hip fractures after hospitalization. Trial registration This study was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Testing Center (ID: ChiCTR2200062400).

Binge alcohol drinking during adolescence has long-term effects on the adult brain that alter brain structure and behaviors, but the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) is involved in the synaptic plasticity and pathological brain injury by regulating the expression of cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein (CREB) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Dual-specificity phosphatase 6 (DUSP6) is a critical effector that dephosphorylates ERK1/2 to control the basal tone, amplitude, and duration of ERK signaling. To explore DUSP6 as a regulator of ERK signaling in the mPFC and its impact on long-term effects of alcohol, a male mouse model of adolescent intermittent alcohol (AIA) exposure was established. Behavioral experiments showed that AIA did not affect anxiety-like behavior or sociability in adulthood, but significantly damaged new object recognition and social recognition memory. Molecular studies further found that AIA reduced the levels of pERK-pCREB-BDNF-PSD95/NR2A involved in synaptic plasticity, while DUSP6 was significantly increased. Intra-mPFC infusion of AAV-DUSP6-shRNA restored the dendritic spine density and postsynaptic density thickness by reversing the level of p-ERK and its downstream molecular expression, and ultimately repaired adult cognitive impairment caused by chronic alcohol exposure during adolescence. These findings indicate that AIA exposure inhibits ERK-CREB-BDNF-PSD95/NR2A by increasing DUSP6 in the mPFC in adulthood that may be associated with long-lasting cognitive deficits.

RATIONALE: Ghost cell odontogenic carcinoma is a rare malignant odontogenic carcinoma characterized by the presence of ghost cells. It has a nonspecific clinical and radiographic presentation and can be locally destructive and invasive, sometimes with distant metastases. However, no effective systemic therapy is currently recommended for such patients. PATIENT CONCERNS: The patient has been unable to undergo surgery or radiotherapy again. Therefore, he was referred to our department for a more aggressive, multimodal systematic treatment program. DIAGNOSES: The histopathological examination was morphologically suggestive of ghost cell odontogenic carcinomas. INTERVENTIONS: We report a case of locally invasive primary inoperable odontogenic shadow cell carcinoma in a 31-year-old Chinese man who achieved treatment with Toripalimab and chemotherapy, followed by Toripalimab maintenance therapy after 6 cycles. OUTCOMES: He achieved partial remission after treatment. The quality of life significantly improved after treatment. There were no grade 3/4 treatment-related adverse events during treatment. LESSONS: This case presented that Toripalimab and chemotherapy may be a safe and effective systemic therapy for ghost cell odontogenic carcinoma.

BACKGROUND: Drawing can regulate emotions through venting or distraction. Distraction is more helpful for short-term emotion recovery; however, the sustainability of this difference is yet to be clarified. This study used functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to explore potential differences between venting and distraction. METHODS: A total of 44 college students participated in the experiment. After inducing fear by video, they were divided into two groups: The venting group drew their emotional experience, and the distraction group drew a house. Subsequently, the participants were instructed to relax by a brief video. RESULTS: Although the distraction group had a higher valence than the venting group at the end of the drawing activity, there was no difference between the two groups after a relaxation period. Additionally, the activation pattern of the prefrontal cortex differed between the two groups. Compared to the distraction group, the venting group had fewer channels with elevated prefrontal activity during drawing, suggesting less cognitive control, and had more channels with reduced prefrontal activity during relaxation, suggesting a higher level of relaxation. Drawing coding and fNIRS data were both associated with variations in valence. CONCLUSION: The less the cognitive control over emotion and the more free the expression of emotion during drawing, the higher the increase in valence; inversely, the more the cognitive control over emotion and the less free the expression of emotion, the lower the increase in valence.

To observe the effect of amlodipine besylate combined with metoprolol in treating hypertension and heart failure. Total number of patients with hypertension combined with HF admitted to our hospital was One hundred and fifty from May 2017 to May 2022 selected for the study and they were distributed into single drug group and combination group by the method of random number table, with the total number of 75 cases in every group. Metoprolol treatment was given to the single drug group and metoprolol combined with amlodipine besylate treatment was given to the combination group. Both groups' scientific outcomes were compared, including their ventricular function, inflammatory factors, hemodynamics and liver and kidney function. Adverse treatment-related side events for patients were also tallied. Compared to the single drug group, the combination group's overall treatment effectiveness was higher (P<0.05). The combined group had better ventricular function, improved hemodynamics and lower levels of inflammatory factors (P<0.05). The liver, kidney function and adverse effects outcomes were the same in both groups (P>0.05). Amlodipine besylate combined with metoprolol has a better clinical effect in treating hypertension combined with heart failure, which can more effectively improve patients' cardiac function, inflammation and hemodynamics.

Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) is a rare, benign, non-Langerhans cell histiocytic proliferative disease. RDD with central nervous system involvement is extremely rare. Surgical excision is generally regarded as the appropriate treatment of choice for this disease, especially when the lesion causes neurological compression. RDD can be accompanied by systemic symptoms, such as malaise, fever, weight change, leukocytosis, anemia, and hormonal disturbance, which may be challenging during general management. Little is known regarding peri-anesthesia management of this rare disease. We report a case of a patient in his 20s who had recurrent RDD and had general anesthesia with perioperative management. He was obese and hepatic insufficiency. This case report adds to the literature regarding the perioperative anesthetic management of RDD with central nervous system involvement.

The function of Seryl-tRNA synthetase in fungi during gene transcription regulation beyond translation has not been reported. Here, we report a seryl-tRNA synthetase, ThserRS, which can negatively regulate laccase lacA transcription in Trametes hirsuta AH28-2 under exposure to copper ion. ThserRS was obtained through yeast one-hybrid screening using a bait sequence of lacA promoter (-502 to -372 bp). ThserRS decreased while lacA increased at the transcription level in T. hirsuta AH28-2 in the first 36 h upon CuSO4 induction. Then, ThserRS was upregulated, and lacA was downregulated. ThserRS overexpression in T. hirsuta AH28-2 resulted in a decrement in lacA transcription and LacA activity. By comparison, ThserRS silencing led to increased LacA transcripts and activity. A minimum of a 32-bp DNA fragment containing two putative xenobiotic response elements could interact with ThserRS, with a dissociation constant of 919.9 nM. ThserRS localized in the cell cytoplasm and nucleus in T. hirsuta AH28-2 and was heterologously expressed in yeast. ThserRS overexpression also enhanced mycelial growth and oxidative stress resistance. The transcriptional level of several intracellular antioxidative enzymes in T. hirsuta AH28-2 was upregulated. Our results demonstrate a noncanonical activity of SerRS that acts as a transcriptional regulation factor to upregulate laccase expression at an early stage after exposure to copper ions. IMPORTANCE Seryl-tRNA synthetase is well known for the attachment of serine to the corresponding cognate tRNA during protein translation. In contrast, its functions beyond translation in microorganisms are underexplored. We performed in vitro and cell experiments to show that the seryl-tRNA synthetase in fungi with no UNE-S domain at the carboxyl terminus can enter the nucleus, directly interact with the promoter of the laccase gene, and negatively regulate the fungal laccase transcription early upon copper ion induction. Our study deepens our understanding of the Seryl-tRNA synthetase noncanonical activities in microorganisms. It also demonstrates a new transcription factor for fungal laccase transcription.

OBJECTIVE: Exercise helps enhance cognitive function in Alzheimer's patients, although the most effective forms of exercise remain unknown. METHODS: This network meta-analysis was registered in INPLASY (INPLASY202330066). According to predetermined criteria, this investigation comprised randomized controlled studies involving exercise therapies in people with Alzheimer's disease. The exercise intervention was ranked using surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) and mean ranking, with the critical goal outcomes being overall cognition, executive function, and memory function. RESULTS: Resistance exercise is the most likely strategy to be beneficial for slowing down overall cognitive function loss in Alzheimer's patients (72.4%). Additionally, multi-component exercise was the most effective way to improve executive function (30.4%). The only type of exercise that significantly affects memory function is resistance exercise. Memory is the cognitive function that is least responsive to exercise. CONCLUSION: Resistance exercise may be an efficient intervention for overall cognitive function decline in patients with Alzheimer's and conjointly for their memory function. Multi-component exercise is more effective in improving executive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease.

The bimetallic organic-inorganic hybrid complex [Li2Mn3(ipa)4(DMF)4]n (ipa = deprotonated 1,3-isophthalic acid, DMF = N,N'-dimethyl formamide) was synthesized via a solvothermal method and then further calcined at high temperature to prepare a spinel-type lithium manganate (LiMn2O4) cathode under different atmospheres with various calcination conditions. The structure of the complex [Li2Mn3(ipa)4(DMF)4]n was represented by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD), powder XRD, and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis. The morphology and elements of LiMn2O4 were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The electrochemical properties of LiMn2O4 indicated that the direct calcination in an air atmosphere at 850 °C for 12 h was the optimal synthetic condition. The initial discharge specific capacity can reach 95.9 mA h g-1 with an open-circuit voltage of ca. 3.0 V and an upper cutoff voltage of ca. 4.3 V at 0.1 C. The initial discharge-specific capacity of 89.8 mA h g-1 at 1 C had a Coulombic efficiency of 95.3%. This was 73 mA h g-1 at a high rate of 5 C increasing to 91.6 mA h g-1 after returning to 0.1 C. After 500 cycles at 1 C, the system remained at 80.7 mA h g-1 with 89.9% of the initial discharge specific capacity. These features exhibit better stability than that of the reported LiCoO2 and LiNiO2 in battery material for LiMn2O4 enforcement.

How to achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" and explore the compatibility of industrial and ecological civilization is a major challenge for China today. This study analyzes the impact of industrial intelligence on industrial carbon emissions efficiency in 11 provinces of China's Yangtze River Economic Belt, measuring the efficiency of industrial carbon emissions through the non-expected output slacks-based measure (SBM) model, selecting industrial robot penetration to measure the level of industrial intelligence, establishing a two-way fixed model to verify the impact of industrial intelligence on carbon emission efficiency, and testing for intermediary effects and regional heterogeneity. The results show that: (1) the industrial carbon emission efficiency of the 11 provinces shows year-over-year improvement, with significant differences between upstream, midstream, and downstream, where downstream is the highest and upstream is the lowest. (2) The development of industrial intelligence is highly uneven, with the upstream level being the weakest. (3) Industrial intelligence can improve the efficiency of industrial carbon emissions by enhancing green technological innovation and energy use efficiency. (4) The effect of industrial intelligence on industrial carbon emission efficiency also shows regional heterogeneity. Finally, we present policy recommendations. This research provides mathematical and scientific support for achieving carbon reduction targets at an early stage and helps accelerate the construction of a modern, low-carbon China.
